Diary of Events

Friday 17th November: Community Councillor, Andrew Mason meets with James Doonan (owner of The Crook Inn) to discuss various issues, such as restricted opening hours, lack of heating, and closure over the festive period. During the meeting he is informed of the plans to close the Crook Inn and turn it into housing.

Saturday 18th November: Public meeting at Tweedsmuir Village Hall. Approx. 80 attended at short notice

Monday 20th November: Community council meeting attended by several Tweedsmuir residents followed by meeting at Tweedsmuir Village Hall.

Tuesday 21st November: Residents photographed outside Crook for various papers, Andrew interviewed by Southern Reporter and BBC radio Borders, David Mundell on Borders Radio. Plans became available on Scottish Borders Council website.

Wednesday 22nd November: Articles in the Scotsman, Herald, Mail & Express

Thursday 23rd November: Offers of support have begun to flood in from a wide variety of sources, MP's MSP's, Burns Society, Porteous Clan, and many private individuals.

Friday 24th November: An information leaflet is prepared and included with the Peeblesshire news sold at Broughton Stores. The Peeblesshire News features the story on it's front page with a follow up story within the paper.

Saturday 25th November: The Today Programme on BBC Radio 4 interviews local resident Alison Swan and a representative from CAMRA.
